Hush is a Chrome extension that provides a clean, distraction-free reader mode for web articles. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
1.
What data we collect
Hush processes the following information:
- Article content from the web pages you visit (title, body text, author, and metadata).
- Your system theme preference (light/dark mode), stored locally on your browser.
2.
How we use this data
- To display a simplified reading view of the article.
- (If enabled in the future) To generate AI summaries by sending the content to our own summarization API.
3.
What data we store
- We do not store any personal data on our servers.
- All settings (e.g., theme preference) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage.
4.
Data sharing
- Hush does not share any user data with third parties.
- In the future, if AI Summary is enabled, article content may be sent to our API endpoint (hosted on Vercel) for processing. No personal identifiers (such as browsing history, cookies, or user accounts) are included in these requests.
